Farm Equipment

The farm equipment industry provides a wide range of machinery used on farms, including parts, components and accessories, and associated services. This includes a full range of equipment for use in the field, whether it be for cultivation, crop protection, grassland management or harvesting. It also covers machinery for handling and storage of crops, including forage crops, and for livestock husbandry.

All of AEA’s farm equipment members have the opportunity to nominate a representative to the Farm Equipment Council. The Council meets three times a year to discuss the big issues affecting the industry, from the economic and political influences on the machinery market to arrangements for the main trade shows in the UK. Council meetings also allow new technical and legal requirements to be highlighted and debated, giving members the information they need to comply with the rules.

While Council meetings give members the opportunity to hear about the key developments, more detailed information is provided through AEA’s regular newsletters and more specialist meetings for technical and service managers and for exporters. Further details about these and other AEA member services can be found on the Members page.
