Manufacturing is incredibly important to the UK right now. We need to be developing and strengthening our manufacturing base to be able to compete and trade with a wider global audience as we leave the EU and Trade Agreements that were to form individual areas of our own.
The AEA supports its manufacturing base in several ways. We provide wider access to market intelligence and technical expertise within the field of product design, compliance and standards. We also collaborate with other likeminded organisations whose focus is the manufacturing sector. Our Manufacturing / Export Working Group meet on an ongoing basis, and look at issues that will affect the future way in which we will trade. Brexit will impact on this group of members. Members receive a quarterly bulletin with up to date coverage of the process of leaving the EU and with access to grants and other initiatives that may present opportunities.

The AEA is a Challenge Partner with the Department for International Trade (DIT). We promote DIT services to UK based businesses that are considering doing business overseas or planning to expand their international business.

If so the AEA can help you with advice and export services, and assist with contacting your local DIT International Advisor through the regions. We provide members with regular vital export statistics and country data and are continually looking at new potential markets for UK exporters. Due to the wide diversity of the products that we represent, not every overseas trade show or market is relevant to all companies.
