Established in 1883 and still family-owned, Amazone, with its broad programme of sprayers, spreaders, cultivators and drills, is the harvest to harvest specialist. Alongside this is the Groundcare division. The business is built on providing agronomical know-how and good customer service with access to both parts and service available 7 days a week.
On the cultivation front, the comprehensive range takes in the Catros compact disc harrow from 2.5m to 12 m for post-combine shallow stubble cultivation in the quest to control black grass, the deeper working Cenius mulch cultivators in 3 m to 8 m for soil structure renovation through to inversion tillage with the Cayros and Cayron ranges of ploughs in 2 to 8 furrows. For secondary cultivation the PTO-driven KE rotary harrows and KG rotary cultivators span working widths from 2.5 m to 6 m in either rigid or folding and horse powers from 140 hp to 360 hp
In widths ranging from 2.5 to 15m, the Amazone drill range encompasses all farm sizes and establishment techniques from direct drilling, tine seeding, cultivator drilling right through to power harrow/drill combinations. An increasing use of fertiliser with the seed is also now catered for on both solo drills and combinations. Precision drills for maize and rape complete the drill line-up
The 40m high-tech self-propelled Pantera sprayer forms the flagship in a comprehensive programme of trailed and mounted sprayers. The market-leading UF mounted range offers tank sizes from 900 up 1,800 litres and boom widths up to 30m whereas the UX trailed sprayers, also in boom widths up to 40m, come as standard with axle steering and capacities up to 12,000 litres.
2014 saw the 750,000 twin disc fertiliser spreader being delivered and weighing technology and hydraulic drive are now the industry standard as well as GPS variable rate application, automated headland shut-off, push-button border spread control all being the norm. The ZA-TS, and the bigger trailed ZG-TS, Amazone have pushed the boundaries of fertiliser spreading yet further with tramline widths of up to 54m and outputs that allow application rates of up to 400 kg/ha at forward speeds of around 30 km/h at 36m; a huge bonus in getting the job done in the right conditions.
The Groundcare side of the business has in its range the Groundkeeper tractor mounted flail collectors and the self-propelled mower collector, Profihopper. Both come with the SmartCut rotor, offering year-round use. Whether used for clearing spring bulbs, fine mowing, scarifying, maintaining wild flower meadows, collecting leaves or clearing litter, it takes it all in its stride. The Groundkeeper offers working widths from 1.35m to 2.1m, whereas the Profihopper has the unique PowerCompactor System, which collects the grass via augers for a clean pickup irrespective of the weather conditions and ensures that the 710 litre hopper packs in an amazing 1,000 litres of loose cut material.
Completing the Amazone Groundcare range is GBK overseeders and the single disc EK-S and E+S spreaders for those winter grit applications.
