ScotGrass was held at Crichton Royal Farms, Dumfries on Wednesday 18th May. The event attracted just under 3,000 visitors with some farmers arriving more than two hours before the official opening time. With 7mm of rainfall the previous night and some further light rain on the morning itself, this meant that working demonstrations were delayed for an hour but the positive impact was the presence of some visitors who were unable to progress with silage at home. For a majority of the day visitors seemed to be well distributed around the site and despite current market conditions there appeared to be good interest in the impressive array of working equipment as well as in the static area.
